Entre los ballets completos que se han subido a Internet, me pareció de interés adicionar a mi Blog, “Clavigo”, un ballet que según la ficha existente, fue estrenado en 1999, en versión del Ballet de la Ópera de París. El ballet comienza en un baile, mientras Marie (Osta) entra con su hermano (Karl Paquette) quien no se identifica como Beaumarchais en el programa. El hermano de Marie aparece con una espada y Carlos pasa una espada a Clavigo, que solamente intenta defenderse, mientras todavía sostiene a Marie en sus brazos y es apuñalado en el corazón. El ballet concluye con Clavigo que muriendo realiza un prolongado y virtuoso solo, observándose que en la agonía de Clavigo se combinan la culpabilidad y la desesperación.
El alcance de este gran ballet mucho se debe a la partitura excepcional de Gabriel Yared, cuya música está construida de manera tal, que parece sostener a todo el ballet.
